Green Berry Waldrop’s ancestors remain a mystery.  Researchers in the past have called Green Berry a son of Benjamin and Ailsey Waldrop.  However, we have three participants in the DNA project from Green Berry’s line, one from his son, McDonald; two from his son, Joseph Ryan.  These participants match each other and one other participant in the project.

The only matching participant in the DNA project is a descendant of Clinton Meek Waldrop who we believe was born in McNairy Co., TN to Thomas and Sarah Jane Meeks Waldrop.  Thomas and Sarah Jane moved to Carroll Co., AR by 1850.  Thomas died before 1860 and Sarah Jane went to Parker Co., TX, then, OK.  Clinton married in Sebastian Co., AR in 1852, was on the Carroll Co., AR tax list from 1853-1859, then, was back in Sebastian Co., AR in 1860.  He died in McIntosh Co., OK in 1897-1899.

We have nothing but DNA to link Thomas, Sarah and Clinton to Green Berry, McDonald and Joseph Ryan.  Thomas and Green Berry were about the same age.  We suspect brothers or first cousins.
